We are building a purpose-built facility at 256 Grays Inn Road, which will provide a technologically advanced research environment, shared facilities, flexible space and major new investment into core technologies, equipment and services.
The dual hub: 256 Grays Inn Road and Queen Square House
One IoN-DRI community will work over two sites - 256 Grays Inn Road and Queen Square to create one world-class centre for translational neuroscience. Queen Square will remain the headquarters of the UCL Queen Square Institute of Neurology (ION) and be the centre for research activities with a clinical focus. 256 Grays Inn Road will be the centre for preclinical neuroscience and house the majority of the Institute's wet labs.
UCLH will acquire majority ownership of Queen Square House, as part of the agreement to purchase the Eastman Dental Hospital site, and a number of floors will be retained and renovated for ION use, with the building's ground floor, currently being redeveloped.Â
As work continues at pace, the ION-DRI community have been visiting site to see how they're getting on...
