Work-in-progress:聽Annie Cattrell's Everything is Connected聽
Annie Cattrell's Everything is Connected will go into fabrication this summer, after reaching the end of its聽detailed and technical design stage
An important part of the work is its beautiful gilded surface. which will absorb and reflect the sun and ambient light
聽Annie has chosen to use this recognisable lunar surface (above) in part to equate the magnitude of what is happening within the building in terms of scientific exploration to that of the moon landing - the enormity and significance of the collective group endeavour that is required for a scientific paradigm shift 聽to happen.
The dendritic sculptural formation, 聽in combination with its 聽lunar surface, also references the macro and micro. Therefore paradoxically combining and synthesizing the聽two distinct ways of looking and understanding i.e. the microscope and telescope.
