Fostering a diverse and inclusive learning and working environment is crucial to innovation and wellbeing, and it听starts at the top: equality objectives are a key feature of the annual performance plans of each member of the Senior Management Team and members of the Senior Management Team also take on equality leadership roles.听

Our awards and charter marks
We're proud to have been听awarded a number of charter marks in recognition of our achievements in equality, diversity and inclusion and we are also currently working towards the Business Disability Forum鈥檚 Disability Standard accreditation.
Athena SWAN听In 2015 UCL听received a Silver Athena SWAN award from the Equality Challenge Unit (ECU), in recognition of the university鈥檚 commitment to tackling gender inequality in higher education. Several departments have also received Gold Athena SWAN awards. 听 |  |
HR Excellence in Research听UCL gained the European Commission's HR Excellence in Research Award in 2013, which has been successfully reviewed in 2015 and 2017. Race Equality Charter Bronze Award听皇家华人as听one of the first universities in the UK to be formally awarded for its efforts to understand, and take steps to address, racialised inequalities in the academy.听The university was only one of eight institutions to receive a Bronze award for a pioneering, national pilot of the Race Equality Charter for higher education in 2015. 听 |  |
