UCL-UCU: Strike Organising Meeting Friday 18 March, 1-2pm

17 March 2022

As well as information on organising teach-outs, digital picket, re-ballots, and the open letter to Provost

This is a reminder that we will be on strike over the Four Fights - pay, workload, casualisation and inequality - from Monday to Friday next week (21-25 March), with pickets from 8am to 12 noon on UCL entrances.

Colleagues are strongly encouraged to come to campus to picket. You should picket the entrance to your normal place of work or the main campus. If you are unsure where to go, please come to the main Quad gate on Gower Street where you can also pick up placards, leaflets, and stickers etc.

Strike organising meeting tomorrow, Friday 18 March 1-2 pm

We are calling an open organising meeting this Friday 18 March, 1-2 pm. The meeting is an opportunity for colleagues to discuss the action and ask questions.

Could you organise a teach-out?

We are looking for people who are interested in doing teach-outs next week. A teach-out is an event as part of an industrial action, where speakers deliver classroom-like content instead of whatever regular classes might be missed due to the action.  or email ucu@ucl.ac.uk to discuss.

Join our Digital Picket

If you are unable to come to Central London to picket, but plan to strike from home, we aim to run a digital picket from 10am each day. Follow us on twitter for programme updates.

Reballots have begun - help us Get The Vote Out

We are currently reballoting over the Ìý²¹²Ô»åÌý disputes. The ballot began on Wednesday 16 March and will run until Friday 8 April. Please look out for your ballot envelope which will be posted to your preferred address (typically your home).

We will discuss the Get the Vote Out campaign and how colleagues can help on the Digital Picket. In the meantime, if you’d like to help in this campaign, please email ucu@ucl.ac.uk.

Please sign and circulate our open letter to the Provost

We invite you to , in which we make some local demands in pursuit of the Four Fights campaign. Please circulate the open letter to colleagues to gather signatures and start a conversation about our campaign and next week’s industrial action.
