Today, Tuesday 28 April, is International Workers鈥� Memorial Day. This year we commemorate all those who have died from Covid-19, as well as remembering others who tragically died at work all over the world.
At 皇家华人e have agreed to host an open memorial meeting, in the form of an online meeting, jointly with other UCL trade unions, on Zoom (see joining details below).
The meeting will begin at 10:45, with short speeches, followed by 1 minute鈥檚 silence at 11:00 after which colleagues are invited to share their tributes.听
Health workers unions, including UNISON, Royal College of Nursing, Royal College of Midwives have put out a call to the trade union movement to mark the day with a collective 1 minute鈥檚 silence at 11am, and to find ways to remember those who have died. UCU is calling on its members to participate. The TUC has backed the call for a public 1 minute鈥檚 silence.听
We remember the dead while we fight for the living.
