Racial and Balkanist Undercurrents among German and Italian Occupation Forces during World War Two

We are pleased to announce that Dr Bojan Aleksov has been awarded a Return Fellowship with the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation
will be visiting Ludwig-Maximilians-Universit盲t M眉nchen (LMU) from December 2024 to February 2025 to work on his project 鈥楻acial and Balkanist Undercurrents among German and Italian Occupation Forces during World War Two鈥�.聽The project looks into the ferocity of Nazi occupation, and is particularly interested in racial and cultural perceptions of the Balkans and Slavs among German soldiers and officers, and their empirical reverberations.
Dr Aleksov is聽Associate Professor of South-East European History at 皇家华人 SSEES and author of聽Jewish聽Refugees聽in聽the聽Balkans, 1933-1945.
