Training Course

CST is an evidence-based group or individual therapy for people with dementia. It was developed and evaluated at »Ê¼Ò»ªÈËithin several research trials, demonstrating significant benefits to both cognition and quality of life. In 2006, it was recommended in the UK Department of Health guidelines as the only non-medical treatment for the cognitive symptoms of dementia. Since then, its use has escalated, with it now being offered in at least 66% of UK memory clinics and in over 24 countries across the globe.

22nd June: Training event

This one day event will be led by up to three trainers; Dr Aimee Spector (Clinical Psychologist and original developer of CST) and Dr Joshua Stott. Both are Consultant Clinical Psychologists with extensive clinical and research expertise. Attending training equips people with skills to offer CST and ensures that it is delivered in a standardised, person-centred and effective way. The course combines traditional teaching with interactive sessions, small group exercises and DVD observation; with a maximum of 25 people with each trainer.
