A lifelong Londoner,听I鈥檓 a first-year medical student听(they/them)听at Imperial College London looking forward to working at听UCL,听whatever听our historic rivalry.听Studying Philosophy and Latin at A level alongside the obligatory Biology and Chemistry deepened my interest in the human mind and听behaviour听and I鈥檓 excited to be working with听PsychUP for Wellbeing.听When I鈥檓 not working,听I can be found knitting, devouring novels or dabbling in journalism.听
While I haven鈥檛 spent long at university, I was struck by the difference in support compared to pre-18听education,听especially听less听informal help from听faculty.听听I think more research and interest in听student听听mental听health is vital听to ensure these really are the best years of our lives.听As part of听PsychUP for Wellbeing, I鈥檓 keen to听ensure the student voice is heard in research and work towards meaningful change.听
