Prevention: Cruel hand of fate still has a role to play

"The evidence is clear - about half of some cancers can be prevented by healthy lifestyles," says Professor Sir Michael Marmot (UCL Epidemiology & Public Health). "A diet rich in fruit and vegetables and white meat, consuming little or no alcohol, being physically active for 60 minutes a day, and not smoking are key."
