Additional requirements can include students with disabilities and health issues. The support that students with additional requirements will receive will depend on their individual needs and personal situation.

For each hall, students can review the building accessibility table to understand whether a building meets their requirements. This can include the layout of the building and bedrooms, fire safety hardware/ alarms, and distance from campus.

Anna Moutra, Applications & Allocations Advisor said, 鈥淲e continue to review our processes so that we can recognise and remove the barriers that keep students from accessing housing that is suitable for their needs.鈥

The Accommodation Office can work with students to offer:
鈥⑻ 听An adapted room, which can involve modifications to appliances
鈥⑻ 听Specific facilities, such as a refrigerator for medicine
鈥⑻ 听A room with accessible entrance/ exit routes

The support can include a rent adjustment, meaning that residents will only be charged the standard room rate for the hall that they have been allocated.

During the application process or if there is a change of circumstances, students will need to be prepared to provide recent and relevant medical evidence to support their request.

The adjustments and support that 皇家华人 Accommodation offers to students with additional requirements complements the existing support provided by Student Support and Wellbeing (SSW), and where appropriate, UCL Accommodation will refer students to SSW for further support.

Students can upload the information and evidence in the application form, which is on the . Students can also contact the Accommodation Office after the application stage to provide information and supporting documents.
