2017 Neuropixels course

聽probes are poised to transform neurophysiology. They have close to 1,000 sites closely spaced on a 1 cm shank, and allow recordings of up to 500 neurons per electrode. They are scheduled to be available to the public at cost in 2018.听

In preparation for this release, this practical course aimed to train students and postdocs, from a wide array of laboratories, to use the聽聽probes and to spike sort using聽Kilosort听补苍诲 .听

Day 1
  • Morning: Introduction to Neuropixels, CMOS.
  • Afternoon: more CMOS, run dummy experiment, recording from populations
  • Evening: plan an experiment for the next day
Day 2
  • Morning: Chronic experiment.
  • Afternoon:聽Acute experiment.听
Day 3
  • Morning: Installing and using聽听补苍诲聽聽to spike sort
  • Afternoon: Analyze the data acquired on Day 2
