In September we had a NICE Group Away Day again, a tradition we reluctantly discontinued during the Covid pandemic. We took a boat along the Thames from Westminster Pier to Hampton Court, a 3 1/2 hour journey along remarkable landmarks, from the busy London West End, past Kew and Richmond through locks into rural suburbs and onwards, to the magnificent palace and gardens of Henry VIII, Tudor, Stuart and Hanoverian/Georgian successors to the crown, soaking up nature and history. We finally made our way to the famous Hampton Court Maze (taking turns to lead the way in the wrong direction!), in time to explore more of the grounds and head back to London by train.
