Description

This module considers management skills for the archives and records professional and the management of archival activities. Management for archivists and records professionals includes strategic planning, management issues in public and private sectors, performance measurement, budgeting, costing and fundraising, and human resources planning. In addition, self management key skills such as time management, presentation and report writing, team working and project management are developed. Career planning and continuing professional development sessions are held.

By the end of the module, students should:
•ÌýÌýÌýÌýbe able to identify and discuss the key concepts in Management
•ÌýÌýÌýÌýhave engaged in the idea of what it means to be a Record Keeping Professional
•ÌýÌýÌýÌýbe confident in engaging with equality and diversity
•ÌýÌýÌýÌýunderstand organisational contexts and managing change
•ÌýÌýÌýÌýhave knowledge and understanding of key theoretical and practical issues;
•ÌýÌýÌýÌýunderstand the key skills needed within an organisational context such as strategic and financial planning, staff and self-management and time management
•ÌýÌýÌýÌýhave a useable career development plan
