Description

A postdoc led series of 5x workshops, based on various technological approaches and trends, in the field of Structural Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.

Each workshop comprises a topic-specific lecture, coupled on the following week with a relevant journal club style session. The journal club sessions will be based on a TBL (Team Blended Learning) approach, during which, we will be looking and expanding on current literature, relevant to each workshop topic.

Assessment of student performance is via a 2000-word Technology report based around one of the subject areas covered in the workshops, counting towards 75% of the final mark. The remaining 25% is achieved by 5x summative MCQ tests, following each workshop session and each counting 5% of your final grade.

Examples of techniques covered in previous years include Mass Spectrometry, NMR, X-Ray crystallography, Molecular dynamics simulations and CRISPR.
