Biography

Co-owner with Craister Greatheed of Arno's Vale on St Vincent. He died before 1792 (his will was dated 16/04/1780), when Craister Greatheed's widow made her will. In it she left two moieties of Arno's Vale to her son, specifying one as having belonged to her late husband and the other 'which formerly belonged to William Crooke Esq. deceased', implying that William Crooke had either sold out to his partner or left his share to his partner's family. The two men had been the original purchasers as Crooke and Greeatheed of two lots that became Arno's Vale.

EAP 688 1785 Deed Book pp. 37-149. The connection between William Crooke the co-owner of Arno's Vale (who was dead by 1792) and William Crooke the slave-owner in St Kitts, whose will was made in 1805 and proved in 1817, has not yet been established.

Identified as owner of one moiety of Arnos Vale in the will of Mary Greatheed proved in 1793. 'Crooke and Greetheed' were the original purchasers of Lot No. 125 (350 acres) and Lot No. 148 (31 acres) which became Arno's Vale.
