We are bringing together performers, artists, writers, including academics, all of whom see their work as focussing on social justice. There are many inspirations for this work, including Azeezat Johnson, Remi Joseph-Salisbury and Beth Kamunge's聽聽and we have been exploring these issues in聽hakan sandal-wilson鈥檚 seminar series titled 鈥樷��, including聽聽between hakan and Natasha Tanna on the politics of writing, and Abeyam铆 Ortega's work on聽mapping art, activism and critical thinking for social justice,听in collaboration with artist and editor聽.听听

In these sessions, participants will respond in various ways to their session title and to the 鈥榢eywords鈥� of聽borders / discipline(s) / social justice / trans-formations. They will also discuss their creative critical processes.聽

Our ethos includes a focus on:

• Politically-engaged/social justice work that decentres or questions conventional scholarly forms聽
• Centring creativity, pleasure, and joy in knowledge production, even when working with difficult and painful issues, in order to counter the spectacle of violence towards racialised bodies
• Addressing hierarchies of knowledge production and knowledge producers and bridging academia/activist/creative divide
• Questioning what聽鈥榬igour鈥� means and how the term is deployed
• Thinking about experimental, creative, and collaborative ways of doing research, even when not technically doing what might be considered practice-based research

En este proyecto, reunimos a int茅rpretes, artistas y escritorxs, incluidxs acad茅micxs, todxs los cuales consideran que su trabajo se centra en la justicia social. Este proyecto se inspira en diversas fuentes, entre estas, de Azeezat Johnson, Remi Joseph-Salisbury y Beth Kamunge, y hemos estado explorando estas cuestiones en la serie de seminarios organizados por hakan sandal-wilson titulada "", que incluye entre hakan y Natasha Tanna sobre las pol铆ticas de la escritura, y el trabajo colaborativo de Abeyam铆 Ortega y la artista y editora sobre cartograf铆as del arte, el activismo y el pensamiento cr铆tico para la justicia social.

En estas sesiones, lxs participantes responder谩n de diversas maneras al t铆tulo de su sesi贸n y a las palabras clave: fronteras / disciplina(s) / justicia social / trans-formaciones. Tambi茅n hablar谩n acerca de sus procesos cr铆ticos creativos.

Nuestro ethos incluye un enfoque en:

• El trabajo pol铆ticamente comprometido con la justicia social que descentra o cuestiona las formas acad茅micas convencionales.
• Centrar la creatividad, el placer y la alegr铆a en la producci贸n de conocimiento, incluso al trabajar con temas dif铆ciles y dolorosos, con el fin de contrarrestar el espect谩culo de la violencia hacia los cuerpos racializados.
• Abordar cr铆ticamente las jerarqu铆as de la producci贸n de conocimiento y de los productores de conocimiento, y superar la divisi贸n academia/activista/creativa.
• Cuestionar lo que significa el rigor y c贸mo se utiliza este t茅rmino.
• Pensar en formas experimentales, creativas y colaborativas de investigar, incluso cuando no se hace t茅cnicamente lo que podr铆a considerarse investigaci贸n basada en la pr谩ctica.
