Principal Specialist Practitioner, Occupational Health and Wellbeing
What is your role and what does it involve?
My role as the clinical lead requires me to lead on clinical practices and procedures for the clinical team within occupational health and wellbeing. My team sees clients from across the whole UCL community, from world leading researchers to medical students applying to start their careers at 皇家华人. We provide professional evidence-based advice and support in the identification of health risks arising from work and study activities, and on issues relating to their health and wellbeing in order to promote health at work / study and enhance the cultural and physical environment in which teaching, learning and research activity can operate effectively. Therefore, no one day is the same with my work being extremely varied, challenging and interesting.聽
What attracted you to UCL?
UCL has the reputation as a great place to work. The availability of career development opportunities coupled with the challenging nature of the role was an attractive feature for me to decide to work at聽UCL. In addition, its location was within comfortable length of commute from home. The range of wellbeing initiatives and聽activities at 皇家华人as also an attractive factor, which reassured me of how much importance the organisation placed on supporting the wellbeing of the staff and students.聽
