UCL launches new Centre for Gender & Global Health

On Thursday 16 February 2017, UCL is launching a new Centre for Gender and Global Health.
The new centre comprises a multidisciplinary team that conducts research and works alongside policy-makers and policy-influencers to address the complex relationships between gender norms and health status.
The launch event, which runs from 10.00-19.00, will start with key note speeches in the morning from speakers including:
- Professor Rachel Jewkes, South Africa Medical Research Council
- Professor Benno de Keizjer, University of Veracruz, Mexico
- Professor Sabina Alkire, Director of Oxford Poverty and Human Development Initiative
- Professor Maureen Fordham, UCL Institute for Risk and Disaster Reduction
The afternoon will feature a series of panel discussions followed by a drinks reception at the end of the day.
The event is free-of-charge to attend, but pre-booking is essential. .
