Stuart Brookes and Ellie Rye attended the Annual Meeting of the European Association of Archaeologists (EAA) in Glasgow, 2-5 September 2015.

Both contributed to the session organised by Margarita Fernandéz Mier, Julio Escalona, and Stuart Brookes, Place-Names and Archaeology: inter-disciplinary perspectives in a European context, with papers entitled: 'Coming together in the open air: the place names and archaeology of outdoor assembly places' (Brookes) and 'Betweonan þære stræte and þære mædwe 'between the street and the meadow': place-names, archaeology, and travel and communication in Anglo-Saxon England (Rye).

Stuart also presented a paper entitled 'Travel and Communication in Anglo-Saxon Englan' in a session organised by Pernille Foss, Jette Bang and Ingrid Smedstad, From dots on a map to long-term linear structures: means of communication through time and space
