This workshop will be a point of contact between groups at »Ê¼Ò»ªÈË interested in future spectroscopic surveys, including the Astrophysics Group, MSSL and the Cosmoparticle Initiative.
The next five years will see a revolution in multi-object spectroscopy through theÌýadvent of several new facilities on ground- and space-based observatories. ThisÌýwill follow recent and continuing progress in gathering deep panoramic and time-dependent imaging data.Ìý We can expect significant progress in observational cosmology, Galactic archeology, galaxy evolution and transient science. UCL astronomers are involved in all of the key facilities. The workshop will provide an opportunity to show-case each of these facilities and their scientific potential as well as to offer the opportunity to discuss their complementary aspects and possible synergies between them.
