UCL Computer Science recently hosted their first-ever alumni networking event in Sydney, Australia. The event aimed to re-connect 皇家华人 alumni in the area, and around 20 graduates spanning multiple years gathered at the Marble Bar at the Hilton Hotel.听

Although the event was primarily for UCL Computer Science alumni, all UCL alumni in Sydney were invited. The evening brought together a range of professionals, including entrepreneurs, professors, information architects and due-diligence experts.听

The event, which was organised by the department鈥檚 Strategic Alliances Team (SAT), showcased the diversity and accomplishments of UCL graduates, and highlighted the personal and professional benefits of staying connected with fellow alumni. 听

Hosting academic, Professor Sriram Subramanian, hopes that the success of this event will encourage more alumni networks in the future.听

Professor Subramanian said: 鈥淚 am delighted to have had the opportunity to host our recent alumni event in Sydney, which connected a diverse group of graduates, ranging from the class of 1981 to more recent cohorts.听听

It was truly inspiring to see so many accomplished professionals all under one roof, exchanging ideas and experiences.听听

The UCL community is proud of their accomplishments, and we look forward to fostering an even stronger global network of alumni in the years to come.鈥澨�

Feedback from attendees was overwhelmingly positive, with UCL CS alum, Nigel Anthony, commenting: 鈥淚t was an enjoyable evening at a splendid venue, with many interesting people there. Sri was an exemplary host!鈥澨�听

Lesley Land, another alum, echoed Nigel鈥檚 sentiments, adding: 鈥淚t was a wonderful event - I met a few people whom I would never have met if not for that gathering, including none-computer scientists.鈥澨�
