Biography
Bob Mills is a specialist in medieval visual cultures and literature, and currently听completing听on a project on questions of animality and the nonhuman in medieval art. He鈥�s听also interested in the long afterlife of听鈥榤edieval鈥� as a category and recently turned his attention to the ways in which modern and contemporary artists have responded to and engaged with the听period鈥檚 art and culture.听Bob鈥檚 most recent book focused on the British artist Derek听Jarman,听using his longstanding engagements with听the听medieval听past听to open a window onto听topics such as听temporalities,听queer听ecologies, and听ideas of apocalypse,听environmental听catastrophe听and ruin.
