Dr Quintijn Kat publishes article in leading journal

UCL Americas alum, Dr Quintijn Kat, has just had a new article published in Latin American Politics and Society, now accessible in First View. The article's title is Competitive Liberalization, Postneoliberalism, and Hegemony: The Case of the US-Peru Free Trade Agreement. Latin American Politics and Society journal cover publishes the highest-quality original social science scholarship on Latin America. The Editorial Board, comprising leading U.S., Latin American, and European scholars, is dedicated to challenging prevailing orthodoxies and promoting innovative theoretical and methodological perspectives on the states, societies, economies, and international relations of the Americas in a globalizing world. In addition to its traditional research articles, Latin American Politics and Society includes Critical Debates—review essays that survey major themes in recent Latin American studies literature. Dr Quintijn Kat

Dr Quintijn Kat completed his PhD at the Institute of the Americas, University College London (UCL) in 2020. His dissertation project was titled 'On the Basis of Consent: Subordinate-state Agency and US Hegemony in Latin America (1990-2010)'. He worked under the supervision of Professor Kevin Middlebrook and Dr Tony McCulloch. He currently holds the post of Assistant Professor of International Relations at , India.
