Volunteer as an alumni mentor

»Ê¼Ò»ªÈË mentors share their expertise and offer personalised, meaningful guidance to students at the beginning of their career journeys. It's a rewarding experience - for both mentors and mentees.

UCL Careers Extra skills mentoringÌý

Careers Extra is our programme of enhanced careers support for UK undergraduates from under-represented backgrounds.ÌýÌýÌý

We are looking for UK-based alumni from a variety of disciplines to take part this year as mentors for students and are particularly keen to hear from alumni who would have met the eligibility criteria for belonging to Careers Extra themselves or who were Access UCL students.Ìý

Mentors will need to attend one or more of a series of the following training events:

  • Mon 4ÌýNov, 12:30-1:30 pm - online (Zoom meeting)Ìý
  • Weds 6ÌýNov, 5:30-6:30 pm - online (Zoom meeting)Ìý
  • Fri 8 Nov, 12:30-1:30 pm - online (Zoom meeting)Ìý


Bartlett Promise ScholarsÌý

We will match Bartlett Promise Scholars with UK-based or international mentors who have studied at The Bartlett or have taken career paths related to the built environment. ÌýÌý

The Bartlett is the UK's largest and most multidisciplinary hub for built environment education and research. Its 13 schools and institutes span a unique variety of disciplines including architecture, urban design, planning, construction, resources, policy and heritage.

Mentors will need to attend one of the following training events before they are matched with a mentee:

  • Mon 4ÌýNov, 12:30-1:30 pm - online (Zoom meeting)Ìý
  • Weds 6ÌýNov, 5:30-6:30 pm - online (Zoom meeting)Ìý
  • Fri 8 Nov, 12:30-1:30 pm - online (Zoom meeting)Ìý


UCL Laws Skills mentoring

The UCL Laws skills mentoring programme is a one-to-oneÌýprogramme where alumni mentors support students to develop the transferable skills needed for the workplace. Ìý

We are looking for alumni working in the legal field or alumni who have undertaken an LLM or LLB to take part as mentors.Ìý

Mentors will need to attendÌýone of the following training events before they are matched with a mentee:

  • Weds 6ÌýNov, 5:30-6:30 pm - online (Zoom meeting)Ìý
