Biography
Naval officer, one of  a group of co-awardees for 10 enslaved people in Westmoreland, Jamaica. No clear path to ownership has been established.
- It is likely that this Gilbert Francis Dawson is the same man as the father of Augustine Rawlins Dawson, baptised at Gravesend 28/10/1846, when the mother's name was given as Harriott Heywood. Â It is also likely that this is the Gilbert Francis Dawson whose death was registered at Eastbourne Sussex Q3 1876 aged 76. Â
